The Importance of Variety in Your Social Media Strategy

Have you ever noticed that when you're scrolling through your social media feed, you tend to get bored as you repeatedly see the same kind of posts? Well, that's where the power of variety comes in. Mixing up your content is crucial for growing your audience and boosting engagement.

Think about it, if you're constantly posting the same type of content, your followers will lose interest quickly. But, if you switch things up by alternating between text posts, videos, and images or experimenting with different formats and styles of content, you'll keep them on their toes.

Not only that, but variety allows you to reach different audiences too. For example, if you're consistently posting videos about your product, you'll attract a specific viewer. But, if you mix some behind-the-scenes images or employee interviews, your audience expands to people interested in the company's culture.

Plus, variety lets you showcase different aspects of your brand, which is especially important if you have a wide range of products or services. Mixing up your content allows you to highlight additional features or benefits of what you offer rather than just focusing on one aspect. This can attract a more diverse audience and increase the chances of conversion.

Variety is a game-changer when it comes to social media. Mixing up your content will keep your followers engaged, reach different audiences, and showcase various aspects of your brand. So, don't be afraid to experiment and try something new! Your social media following will thank you. Now, how can I incorporate variety into my social media strategy?

It's actually pretty simple. At Tally, we use our 311 Social Media Planning to create a mixture of visual and written content. This social media strategy uses 5 content groups to diversify your posts. Then, layering the content varies with the visual array (photos, graphics, videos, and links), creating a fresh and unique look for your social media page.

It works like this. For every 5 posts, each one should have a different content theme: entertaining, educational, engaging, soft sale, and hard sale. Then, from those 5 posts, 3 should be a photo/graphic, 1 video, and 1 link to a blog, website, or article. Combining these two filters provides the visual assortment that a scroller sees and the content mixture that an in-depth follower wants.

Start by brainstorming a list of different types of content you can create, like product demos, customer testimonials, behind-the-scenes footage, and more. Then, create a content calendar outlining what you'll post and when. This will help you stay organized and ensure that you're consistently providing various content.

Storytelling doesn't just sell a product; it crafts narratives that encapsulate the very essence of a brand's journey, values, and purpose. It transforms marketing campaigns into vibrant stories that resonate on a visceral level, weaving emotional connections that transcend transactional exchanges. The power of storytelling lies in its ability to transcend barriers, fostering an intimate understanding between brand and consumer.
